We live at the base of the Sierra Madre Mountains where we have a family owned ranch. We run cow/calf pairs and use the dogs for most of the cattle work. They are invaluable and once you have had the opportunity to have a furry co-worker, you can’t imagine life without them! It has taken me a long time to find a male and a female that I wanted to breed. I had to have two dogs that worked similar and I liked their on stock charecteristics as well as their off stock charecteristics. They have to bite head and heel and work the cattle in a calm fasion, as the cattle are our income. They have to be easily trained and have a desire to work at a young age. Stamina is a must as we travel accross rough terrain for long hours. My dogs are well socialized and good around children. I have a 13 year old boy and a 6 year old boy who are both involved in handling the dogs.
